A restaurant had been serving pizza and Italian food since 1964. When the owner decided to start catering and open banquet rooms, he knew he needed more than referrals. He began with radio ads, TV spots, and paper direct mail. This helped but did not bring in the new customers he was hoping for. In 2015, he elected to mail plastic postcards and had immediate success. The redemptions were tracked and Tom saw an average of 110 new customers per month while spending 27% more than the average check. The restaurant has done seven mailers with SSI and will continue to do quarterly mailers. New customers, repeat business and increased ticket prices all equate to a much higher ROI for the 3 restaurants.
